What’s New in PUBG’s Massive 12.1 Update

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds update 12.1 , one of the game’s most important patches of 2021 so far, has arrived. Beyond adding new content, the update seems to change the way people play PUBG Massive 12.1 , introducing new modes, vehicles and transportation options. The full list of PUBG 12.1 changes is extensive, but there are key points every player should be aware of.

For competitive players, the update marks the start of PUBG’s Season 12 ranked gameplay and a host of behind-the-scenes changes. One of the most important is a fix to the game’s reputation system: Reputation points are no longer deducted for temporary cheating-related bans, meaning players should not be penalized for false reports. Confirmed cheating still results in a permanent ban. Team invites, meanwhile, now offer the ability to view someone’s profile.

The focus of the update, highlighted in the official PUBG patch notes , is the overhaul of the game’s second map, Miramar , which was released in December 2017 . The overhaul not only improves lighting, texture, and model detail; it also streamlines some areas for better flow, clearly shows which cliffs cannot be climbed, and adds Sandstorm and Twilight climates for Challenger Mode. The two-seat Quad ATV is available as a new vehicle, and items imported from other maps include jammer packs, bait bombs, and emergency parachutes. The emergency intake has been adjusted to give players fewer planes with a 90 second cooldown between each one. Using the pickup pack before a plane is ready wastes it.

Boosts, Explosions, and Better Bots Coming to PUBG 12.1

A new weapon associated with the map is the semi-automatic Lynx AMR. PUBG Described as ‘s first anti-materiel rifle, the .50-caliber rounds are said to be powerful enough to blow up motorcycles with one shot and inflict serious damage to BRDMs, including piercing their windows. For balancing purposes, the weapon is currently limited to five shots without reloading and can only be cleared of Miramar maintenance packs in Normal matches.

Improved bots on Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, and Vikendi. They should now behave better in terms of cover and grenades, and will also jump out of the plane at startup. Elsewhere, PUBG has been given smoother local and server performance, soccer balls for lobbies, and a complex weapon skin upgrade system that requires G-Coins. A relief for folks who normally avoid DLC is the addition of a right-click PC menu when browsing accessories, which allows for faster equipping and swapping of items.

Finally, a Race Mode is coming soon to PUBG Labs for a “limited time” and select partners can already launch races in private matches. These take place on two tracks set in Miramar, spawning players with a vehicle, weapons, and the ability to get WipEout-style ammo and speed boosts. PUBG 12.1 update is now live for all PC players.
